The article considers stationary thermocapillary convection in a thin horizontal layer of fluid with Prandtl number \(\Pr <1\) when it is being locally heated from above in conditions in which the curvature of the free surface is small. It is shown that the motion has a cellular structure. The size of the convective cell is determined from the solution to the spectral problem to which the integration of the free convection system of equations reduces.
