Upper and lower bounds for eigenvalues are obtained for matrix pencils A- \(\nu\) B, where A is a Stieltjes matrix and B is positive definite. B arises by an approximate factorization of A solving the positive definite linear system \(Ax=b\). The upper bounds for the eigenvalues are obtained using matrix graph properties.
