The Steffensen iteration method is considered. The author derives an error estimate \(\| x^{(k+1)}-\bar x\| \leq M\| x^{(k)}-\bar x\|^ 2\), where \(x^{(k)}\), \(k=0,1,...\), are the approximations to the exact solution \(\bar x,\) without connecting it to the convergence analysis of the iteration method.
