The author solves the problem of edge resonance in a semi-infinite elastic strip, on the basis of the two-dimensional model of high- frequency vibrations of plates. The curve of the frequency of edge resonance as a function of Poisson's ratio is calculated. A comparison is offered with experiment and with the results of the three-dimensional theory of elasticity.
