For a specimen in the form of a thin-walled tube subject to simple preloading by an axial force, pressure, and torque, the genesis problem is solved using the approach proposed by \textit{A. A. Il'yushin} in his monograph on Plasticity (1963; Zbl 0117.188). The direction of the loading and the mechanical properties of the specimen in the initial isotropic state are determined.
