The author has investigated the steady circulatory flow about an infinite porous circular cylinder rotating with a given angular velocity in an incompressible non-Newtonian fluid. The fluid model used is that of \textit{B. D. Coleman} and \textit{W. Noll} [Arch. Ration. Mech. Anal. 6, 355-370 (1960; Zbl 0097.164)]. Exact analytical solutions to first and second order. It is found that when circulation, velocity, vorticity and pressure are affected by the effects of viscoelasticity even in the first-order approximation, the torque is independent of these effects even in the second-order approximation.
