Using model theory and ultrapowers techniques [see e.g. \textit{J. Barwise} (ed.), Handbook of mathematical logic (1978; Zbl 0443.03001)], the author proves several results in Banach space theory. Let us give a sample: Every Banach space of cardinality \(\geq \aleph (\alpha)\) contains a subspace with an unconditional basis of cardinality \(\alpha\) (Theorem 1).
