    We study a free-boundary problem arising from a unidirectional gravity- driven steady flow. Under certain geometrical assumptions, the free- boundary problem is equivalent to a complementarity problem, which, in turn, is shown to be equivalent to a variational inequality. Numerical results using a point successive overrelaxation method with projection are presented for specific geometries.
