The author argues that Dionysios in the third century B. C. composed a parapegma which became a common source for Hipparchos and for 'the Egyptians', identifying the latter with 'Nechepso and Petosiris'. He also deals with the perpetual astronomical tables presumably contained in the books of 'the Egyptians', and assumes that a later editor applied to these tables a correction to take into account the precession of the equinoxes. [Part V, cf. ibid. 34, 231--239 (1985; Zbl 0573.01001).]
