The authors study linear operators T on the set of \(n\times m\) fuzzy matrices and show that the following conditions are equivalent: (1) T preserves rank; (2) T preserves ranks 1 and 2; (3) T is UXV or \(UX^ TV\), U, V permutations; (4) T is bijective and preserves rank 1.
