It is shown that if P is a paracompact p-space, \(P\times X\) is collectionwise normal, and Y is a closed image of X, then \(P\times Y\) is collectionwise normal. Moreover, if M is a metric space, and X has the shrinking property, then \(M\times X\) has the shrinking property if and only if \(M\times X\) is normal.
