A new differential geometric approach for the variational equations of fluids is presented. The concept of prefluid is introduced and its variational equations are computed. Also, a classical fluid of noninteracting particles is considered as a prefluid and the Schrödinger equation and the Maxwell equations are treated as equations of prefluids.
