The author proposes a procedure for calculation of the free energy of continuous and lattice models of statistical mechanics in finite volumes which takes into account the geometrical characteristics of the boundary. Free energy is given for the lattice models with general n-body interaction at low activity and for the continuous models with two-body interaction in terms of a special type cluster expansion.
