This work deals with basic aspects of the study of the steady convection in fluid-saturated porous media, and represent an extension of an earlier paper [the author, Weak continuity in convection problems, J. Math. Anal. Appl. 100, 51-58 (1985)]. There are presented the weak solutions together with some regularity properties, inter alia a natural maximum principle.
