We generalize a drop theorem of \textit{M. Turinici} [Acta Math. Acad. Sci. Hung. 39, 17-25 (1982; Zbl 0442.46005)] via maximal element technique and give a generalization of a fixed point theorem of \textit{J.-P. Aubin} and \textit{J. Siegel} [Proc. Am. Math. Soc. 78, 391-398 (1980; Zbl 0446.47049)] as an application of the same technique.
