[For part I see the review above (Zbl 0581.76062).] The author studies the existence of motions of horizontal uniform translation of the profile with relative equilibrium of the rod in the undeformed state. Then, he considers the problem of stability of this motion in the case of the rod directed vertically downwards. This problem is reduced to the problem of the minimum of a functional. Sufficient conditions of stability are given.
