The paper deals with the pole placement problem using periodic output feedbacks for single-input single-output linear discrete-time control systems. Necessary and sufficient conditions for the existence of a solution to the problem are established. An algorithm for finding a sequence of output feedback gains for a prescribed characteristic polynomial of the closed-loop system matrix is presented.
