Let \(E\subset {\mathbb{R}}^ 2\) be a set of constant width \(\delta\) and \(\partial E\) its boundary. In a previous work the author and \textit{G. C. Zirello} [Rend. Semin. Mat. Univ. Padova 72, 191-202 (1984; Zbl 0563.28004)], among other things, have given some sufficient conditions so that the approximating measures \(\nu_ t(E)\) and \(\nu_ t(\partial E)\) result continuous at \(t=\delta\). In the work under review the author shows that these conditions are also necessary, and he gives other equivalent conditions too.
