Convergence/divergence of an interpolating Lagrange spline series depend on the exponential rate of growth of the interpolation data. This is ruled by the ''main root'' of an Euler-Frobenius polynomial. An asymptotic expansion of this root in dependence of the degree is given for the best conditioned cases (unshifted or midpoint nodes).
