A user-friendly algorithm is presented for the linear least squares solution by exponential splines. The only required input from the user is the number of nodes to be used. The nodes themselves are computed by a cluster analysis of the measured data. The behaviour and the location of the data values determine the type of the function e.g., cubic polynomial, exponential function, which is used in each interval.
