Congruences on an R-unipotent semigroup S have been studied before in terms of congruence pairs. In this paper we present another characterization of a congruence pair on S. A study of the idempotent separating congruences on an R-unipotent semigroup is also presented. Finally, another description of the least congruence \(\rho_{\min}\) whose trace is equal to the trace of a given congruence \(\rho\) on S is shown.
