The paper is concerned with two-dimensional perturbed twist maps. An analytical iteration procedure for the approximation of the equilibrium invariant distribution on a strange attractor is presented. For the dissipative Fermi, the Zaslavskij and the quadratic Chirikov map numerical calculations are compared with the analytical distributions finding qualitative agreement.
