Treating observables as \(\sigma\)-homomorphisms of the Borel sets of the real line into an orthomodular \(\sigma\)-lattice L, the author introduces meet and join operations among them in terms of corresponding spectral resolutions, showing that 1) they form a lattice in case L is \(\sigma\)- continuous, and 2) given a set of commuting observables, all its polynomials form a lattice.
