Two remarks on equivelar manifolds (Q1070522)

A correction is given for theorem 2 in the authors' paper, ibid. 41, 331- 346 (1982; Zbl 0497.52004). The constructions of the sequences \(\{\) 3,9;g\(\}\), \(\{\) 4,6;g\(\}\), \(\{\) 3,12;g\(\}\) and \(\{\) 4,8;g\(\}\) there are based on the so-called method B which does not work in full generality. In the present paper the authors give alternative constructions for \(\{\) 3,9;g\(\}\) and \(\{\) 4,6;g\(\}\) \((g=6,9,10\) and \(g\geq 12)\). For the other sequences above one may compare the authors' paper, ibid. 46, 127-144 (1983; Zbl 0525.52008). Furthermore, it is shown that equiangular faces cannot occur for equivelar polyhedra of type \(\{\) p,4\(\}\) for \(p\geq 4\).
