On a class of asymptotic distributions in redundancy with renewals (Q1070671)

The author has considered a system of \((n+1)\) identical units where only one unit is operative and n units are cold standby. The failure time follows an arbitrary distribution. The repair time follows exponential distribution and there are r (1\(\leq r\leq n)\) repair facilities. There is one switching device which replaces the failure unit by a standby for operation. Here the switch over time follows an arbitrary distribution L(x). Under these conditions, the author has obtained a class of limit distributions for the distribution of the first time system-down. This paper is a generalisation of the earlier work of the author, Elektron. Informationsverarbeitung Kybernetik 4, 327-340 (Russian) (1968; Zbl 0235.60086); English translation in Sel. Transl. Math.
