Let I be an ideal in a local ring. The author studies the property of I being generated by a d-sequence in relation to the Cohen-Macaulayness of the Koszul homology of I and the exactness of the double Koszul complex associated to a generating set for I, as it was introduced by \textit{A. Simis} and \textit{W. V. Vasconcelos} [Math. Z. 177, 341-358 (1981; Zbl 0439.13014)].
