The problem of elastic wave diffraction is solved under boundary conditions of three kinds: in the absence of friction between the elastic medium and the wall of the cone, with friction, and with the medium rigidly attached on the wall. The stress field behind the reflected elastic wave is obtained using the numerical method of characteristics. Analytic formulas are given for the stresses on the reflected head waves.
