Revised lower displacement bounds of impulsively-loaded rigid-plastic structures (Q1071585)

In previous references concerning the lower displacement bounds of dynamically loaded plastic structures, the lower displacement bounds are not always applicable to arbitrarily chosen kinematically admissible displacement field \(\phi_ i(x)\). It will be pointed out in the present paper that if an arbitrary \(\phi_ i(x)\) is adopted, the previous lower displacement bound only bounds the displacement from below at the lower bound of response time. This fact will also be illustrated by an example. Then a revised lower displacement bound for an impulsively loaded plastic structure will be proposed which is applicable to arbitrary admissible field.
