A generalization of the notion of Chebyshev system is introduced. Such a system of \(n+1\) functions in C[0,a], \(a>0\) is called an I-system. For an I-system is defined (via the space of probability measures on [0,a]) the associated n-moment space in \({\mathbb{R}}^{n+1}\). A description of this moment space is obtained and particular I-systems are constructed. Unfortunately, the paper contains many misprints.
