This paper gives conditions under which the quasi-concave closure of the additively separable function \(U=\sum u_ i\) also is additively separable. If the functions \(u_ i\) are differentiable, then it is sufficient and necessary that all the functions \(u_ i\) are the same up to linear transformations of the axes. If the functions are nondifferentiable, then the linearity condition is replaced by pointwise linearity.
