The relative information generating function (Q1072520)

The authors introduce the relative information generating function. The function assumes simple forms for the binomial and the Poisson distributions. Also, the derivatives of this function give well known statistical indices such as the Kullback-Leibler divergence between two probability distributions and Watanabe's measure of interdependence. Also some new information indices such as the standard deviation of the variation of information are suggested.
