A local theory of existence and uniqueness for the solution of a class of nonlinear evolution problems, arising in the study of the diffusion of a gas of test particles interacting between themselves and against other field particles, that constitute the background for such diffusion, is developed. The usually neglected effects of scattering and removal by f.p., of removal by the t.p. themselves, and of an external conservative force are incorporated in the theory. Special cases are then treated explicitly.
