This paper deals with the study of the above problem for steady viscous incompressible flow of an electrically conducting fluid when the magnetic field is aligned with the velocity field. This study is carried out for fluids of finite and infinite electrical conductivity. It is established that vortex motion with curvilinear axis exists for infinitely conducting fluids and the vortex motion is a rigid body motion for finitely conducting fluids.
