The selection of an optimal threshold strategy of switching the rate of service of calls is considered for a two-rate queueing system with an unreliable server. The stationary probability distribution of the system states is obtained, as well as the dependence of the system performance criterion on the threshold. Systems with a switching-off server are examined in more detail.
