Let L be an ample line bundle on a compact complex manifold M of dimension n. the sectional genus of the polarized manifold (M,L) is given by \(2g(M,L)=2+(K+(n-1)L)L^{n-1},\) where K is the canonical bundle. The author announces several interesting results concerning a polarized manifold (M,L) with \(g(M,L)=2\).
