This paper shows by two numerical examples (the Hamiltonian systems associated to a particle in a standing wave field and, respectively, to the Duffing oscillator) that the bifurcation scenarios of periodic orbits in 3-dimensional Hamiltonian systems are more complicated than what was initially expected.
