In this short note the author shows that the closure of \(B^ 1_{[0,\infty)}\) in a locally compact topological inverse semigroup can be obtained (up to isomorphism) from \(B^ 1_{[0,\infty)}\) by adjoining the additive group of reals in a suitable way.
