An exact analysis of the boundary conditions at the point where an element of an absolutely flexible string or membrane meets the surface of a rigid body colliding with it at ''supersonic'' velocity of the rigid body, the formulation of the problem concerning such a collision, accompanied by the tearing of the string of the rupture of the membrane, and the construction of its solution for the selfsimilar impact mode with constant velocity are given.
