Zur Konstruktion lokal kompakter Dicksonscher Fastkörper. (On the construction of locally compact Dickson near-fields) (Q1075373)

This posthumous paper continues a theme which was central to another of the author's work [ibid. 19, 311-351 (1985; Zbl 0576.51014)] where Dickson near-fields were investigated that were constructed by means of the automorphism group of a finite extension F/K of local fields, and criteria were given for such near-fields to be locally compact. The present paper describes in detail the Dickson maps used for such near- field constructions in the case when the field extension is unramified.
