[Shortened version of the original review]. The note is concerned with the Hadamard's (first) variational formula for the Szegö kernel associated with a strictly pseudoconvex domain in \({\mathbb{C}}^ n\) with \(n\geq 3.\) A similar formula for the Bergman kernel has been given by the author [Proc. Jap. Acad., Ser. A 58, 345-348 (1982; Zbl 0535.32012)].
