The authors have derived some solutions for a second-order non-Newtonian fluid following the third author, \textit{R. M. Barron} and \textit{A. C. Smith} [SIAM J. Appl. Math. 42, 1323-1336 (1982; Zbl 0563.76039)]. The result in theorem 1 could more easily be derived using the vorticity equation instead of introducing the energy function h.
