This paper investigates a steady perpendicular oncoming flow past a plate in the presence of a pair of free attached vorticity sinks. The flow pattern obtained approximately corresponds to the flow in transverse sections in the case of detached flow past a wing of small aspect ratio at large angles of attack. It is shown that for certain sink intensities, solutions with an asymmetric distribution exist alongside the symmetric distribution of the sinks.
