A group is said to satisfy the weak minimal condition for normal subgroups if there are no infinite decreasing chains of normal subgroups with infinite factors. A description of groups with the weak minimal condition for normal subgroups in the class of locally nilpotent groups of free rank 1 with abelian periodic part is given.
