The author gives sufficient conditions for the global asymptotic stability of the zero solution of the autonomous equation \[ x^{(n)}+(\sum^{(n+1)/2}_{j=1}a_{2j-1}x^{(n-(2j- 1))})f+\sum^{(n-1\quad)/2}_{j=1}a_{2j}x^{(n-2j)}=0\quad (n\quad odd) \] \[ x^{(n)}+(\sum^{n/2}_{j=1}a_{2j-1}x^{(n-(2j- 1))})f+\sum^{n/2}_{j\quad =1}a_{2j}x^{(n-2j)}=0\quad (n\quad even). \]
