The result of this paper is a formula which expresses the order of the locally free class group of \({\mathbb{Z}}D_{mq}\), where \(D_{mq}=C_ m\rtimes C_ q\) is a generalized dihedral group, in terms of class numbers and unit indices of number fields. The main technical ingredient is the Mayer-Vietoris sequence of Reiner and Ullom.
