The authors consider the action of a locally compact amenable group as affine homeomorphisms of a Choquet simplex. The main result characterizes the case, when the set of common fixed points for the action is a face. This is the case if and only if the invariant measures on the simplex form a face in the set of probability measures. Also a condition involving slowly oscillating functions is given.
