Two-dimensional area preserving mappings are considered which admit a formal integral expanded into an asymptotic series. A method is suggested for calculating the monodromy matrix, and, in particular, its trace. Asymptotic estimates are given for large order coefficients in the perturbation series near periodic points of the system. Comparison is made with the Kolmogorov-Arnol'd-Moser theory.
