Nonlinear elliptic systems of the type (*) \(D_{\alpha}(A_ i^{\alpha}(Du))=0\) \((i=1,...,N)\) are considered. A method of \textit{K. Uhlenbeck} for proving the partial regularity of solutions is extended to systems (*) satisfying weaker assumptions than those [Acta Math. 138, 219-240 (1977; Zbl 0372.35030)]. Reverse Hölder type inequalities are not used in the proof.
