Some existence, uniqueness and regularity results in the framework of Lipschitz continuous functions are established for an initial and boundary value problem for a system of first order linear partial differential equations, arising in cell biology when the evolution of a homogeneous cell population is modelled. The main technical tool consists of converting it into a suitable delay problem. An estimate for the growth of the cell population is also given.
