Knots and links in codimension greater than 2 (Q1078856)

This paper determines the classification of links with codimension greater than 2 in the manifold \(S^ 1\times R^{n-1}\), i.e. isotopy classes of imbeddings of \(S^{p_ 1}\cup... \cup S^{p_ r}\) in \(S^ 1\times R^{n-1}\) with \(p_ i\leq n-3\). The major tool involved is the use of surgery theory. Exact sequences relate the groups to classical knot and link groups.
